The Southport baseball team took on Columbus East last night at Holder field and thrashed the visiting Olympians 11-1. Senior RHP Kenton Armbruster went three strong innings on the mound allowing one run with four strikeouts. Senior OF Dan Barr had a career night at the plate going four for four, needing just a triple to complete the cycle. Barr also drove in five runs with Senior OF Zach Rust adding two RBIs.
The Cards will take on Ben Davis in the first round of the Marion County tournament this Friday at North Central High School. Southport will try to defend their title and go for a third straight county championship.
