The Southport baseball team traveled to Pike High School Tuesday to take on their conference rival the Pike Red Devils. The Cards came up short however, as they had arguably their worst night of offense this season, racking up 13 strikeouts as a team, leading to Pike coming out on top 11-2. Seniors Dan Barr and Bret Wampler were the lone bright spots on offense, combining for three hits and driving in all three of Southport’s runs.
The Cardinals will look to snap their small two game losing streak when they take on township rival Perry Meridian tomorrow. Senior RHP Kenton Armbruster will be on the mound to take on the Falcons at Holder Field. First pitch at 5:00pm.
