Southport ladies take Richmond Invitational
The Southport girls’ cross-country team kicked off the 2009 season with a win at the Richmond Invitational.
Southport Senior Nicolette Crouch led the way with a first place finish. Crouch was followed by Southport Senior Kelly Hodges, who grabbed second place. Senior Allison Zorman, Junior Emily Odle and Freshman Taylor Zorman all took points for the team, placing fifth, sixth and tenth respectively.
Head Coach Nathan Fishel is proud of the girls’ performances, but knows that there is room for improvement.
“We need to continue to improve our team time gaps,” noted Fishel. “Overall though, we had a great meet.”
The girls are scheduled to race again at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 29th at the Rushville Invitational.
