On August 22, the Lady Cards hosted the Southport Invitational. They lost their first two matches against Tri-West and then to Lutheran. They won their third match, beating Centerville. They placed fifth in the invitational. Sophomore Kayla Chappel led the team in assists with 38. Junior Chelsea Brothers and sophomore Devin Walter both contributed 14 kills. Senior Katlyn Busch had 15 digs and 2 aces.
“We lacked in intensity in the first two matches and then got it together to win the third match.” said head coach Mrs. Barb Huotari.
The Lady Cards now have a record of 2-3.
