Last night August 25, the boys’ soccer team defeated Franklin Community, 4-1. Franklin Community started the game with a goal, but the Cards fought back for a win. Senior Jose Castellanos, senior Christian Delgado, junior Wes Oliver and junior Simon Lian all scored goals for the Cards.
According to head coach Mr. Josh Brown, the Cards possessed the ball the majority of the game, but had troubles putting it in the net. The Cards had 12 shots on goal and 26 shots total. Senior Kraig Roberts was injured during the game. Roberts will be out for two weeks with a hyper-extended knee.
“Over all we played well,” said Brown. “We just need to work on putting the ball into the net.”
The Cards are working hard to prepare for the big match up against Pike on Tuesday, September 1. The Cards beat the Red Devils their first time they met last season, but lost to them in the County finals.
The Cards are scheduled to be back in action on September 1, at Pike at 6:30 p.m.
