Conference action began this past weekend within Conference Indiana and to nobody’s
surprise Bloomington South and Franklin Central continued to roll. The 4A #1
Panthers began the league season by downing Southport
Friday night 66-50. Franklin Central opened league play with a 70-53 thumping
of Columbus North. Pike and Bloomington North also picked up initial conference
wins. Pike blasted Lawrence Central 89-66 and North downed Perry Meridian
48-36.

Saturday saw a return to non-conference play for CI teams.
Bloomington North received an impressive double-double from Blake Metcalf who
delivered 14 points and 13 rebounds in the Cougars 68-62 victory over Plainfield. Julias
Boatner continued to lead North in scoring, pouring in 30 against the Quakers.
Not to be outdone, Bloomington South blasted Terre Haute North 86-55.

Elsewhere, Patrick Bade had 18 points and Jordan Weidner
added 17 as Franklin Central rolled past Fishers 64-50. Southport
rebounded with a victory in the Circle City Classic held at the Southport
Fieldhouse. The Cardinals downed Hauser 70-49 behind 15 points from Kellen
Thomas. Brownsburg defeated Perry Meridian 64-55.

Conference play this coming Friday is highlighted by the
visit of Columbus North to Pike. Other games include Bloomington South at Lawrence
Central, Southport hosting Bloomington North,
and Perry meridian traveling to Franklin Central.
