Conference action began this past weekend within Conference
surprise Bloomington South and Franklin Central continued to roll. The 4A #1
Panthers began the league season by downing
Friday night 66-50. Franklin Central opened league play with a 70-53 thumping
of Columbus North. Pike and Bloomington North also picked up initial conference
wins. Pike blasted Lawrence Central 89-66 and North downed Perry Meridian
48-36.
Saturday saw a return to non-conference play for CI teams.
Bloomington North received an impressive double-double from Blake Metcalf who
delivered 14 points and 13 rebounds in the Cougars 68-62 victory over
Boatner continued to lead North in scoring, pouring in 30 against the Quakers.
Not to be outdone, Bloomington South blasted Terre Haute North 86-55.
Elsewhere, Patrick Bade had 18 points and Jordan Weidner
added 17 as Franklin Central rolled past Fishers 64-50.
rebounded with a victory in the Circle City Classic held at the Southport
Fieldhouse. The Cardinals downed Hauser 70-49 behind 15 points from Kellen
Thomas. Brownsburg defeated Perry Meridian 64-55.
Conference play this coming Friday is highlighted by the
visit of Columbus North to Pike. Other games include Bloomington South at Lawrence
Central,
and Perry meridian traveling to Franklin Central.
