The Southport High School boys’ soccer team lost a tough fought game to Lawrence Central 2-1. The Cardinals record falls to 8-2-1. The boys’ only goal was scored by Wes Oliver from a penalty shot.
“We controlled parts of the game, but overall, was by far the worst game we have played this season,” wrote coach Josh Brown in an email to the Southport News Bureau.
The boys next match is against Bloomington North on September 23.
