Southport boys’ cross county had its opening meet Saturday August 23. It was the Richmond Invitational held at Earlham College cross country course. The course is known as one of the toughest courses in the state.
The Cardinals ran hard and with a strong team effort, the Cardinals pulled off a win. Junior Lance Nelson lead the pact in fourth place. Nelson was followed by senior Micheal Gearhart in ninth place and senior Daniel Morris in eleventh place.
Southport’s boys’ cross country record is now 1-0. The Cardinal’s next meet is scheduled the Black and Gold Hokum Karem in Noblesville on August 30.
