FB: Conference Indiana Football Summary

Staff report

Conference Indiana made a
strong claim last season as the best football conference in Indiana. Friday, on opening night, CI teams
did little to make anyone believe the conference will not be just as strong
this year. The conference went 6-2 in round one with several resounding
victories. Here is a capsule look at how CI teams fared.

Pike eliminated any doubts as to whether they would be as
good this time around by throttling North Central 52-14. The Red Devils scored
the game’s first 31 points.

Bloomington South added another MIC notch to the league’s
belt by blasting Terre Haute South 42-21.

Franklin Central used a devastating rushing attack to topple
Decatur central
14-7 in Coach Brian Harbin’s debut.

Bloomington North struggled squeaking by past Edgewood 41-35

Southport lost to Roncalli in the renewal of a fabled south
side Indianapolis
rivalry. However, the Cardinals were more than respectable in the 27-7 loss.

Lawrence Central raised some eyebrows with a 17-0 shutout of
rival Lawrence North, yet another win over a MIC team.

Columbus North displayed an explosive offense against Seymour, but had
defensive problems in a 35-19 victory..

Perry Meridian found life after Adam Wiese a little rough,
losing to powerful Ben Davis 55-14
